Song Of The Day: "Silence" by Cooper Phillip

Hey guys!

There is so much talent on this planet. And I'm so glad I get to showcase at least a little part of it on house in the sand.
It's such a fantastic sign to see a lot of people reading the blog regularly because that means people care about new and undiscovered music.

I received an email about Cooper Phillip's new release.
Cooper Phillip is a young soul-pop singer/songwriter based in Los Angeles, USA.

Cooper was born in Russia in a very musical family. She spent her early years living with her grandmother and aunt because her mother toured with various symphonies.
At the age of 11 Cooper won her first vocal competition performing an Ella Fitzgerald song which she learned how to sing by herself.

At 17 years old Cooper moved to New York to pursue her music career. After a lot of hard work such as singing at weddings and other events she got the opportunity to sing at a gig in Los Angeles.
She then started working on her debut EP "Walk A Mile", the songwriting helped her express her feelings and tell her stories.

And now she's here with her single;
"Silence" is a piano based ballad. You won't hear anything besides Cooper's voice and a piano. And let me tell you, that's absolutely enough.
Her really strong and souly voice leads the track confidently and oh so well. The piano supports the atmosphere, the vulnerability, the emotions of the song.

You can clearly hear her musicial influences; Mariah Carey, Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald. Nonetheless Miss Phillip still has her very own sound.
